Answered Prayer

Dear God, good morning. Today’s reading from the Bible speaks about “Answered Prayer.” On August 5, twenty-twenty-one, I got on my knees and started crying out to you. I did not know how to pray to you or pray right, and I kept weeping and begging you, Jesus, for help.
I don’t remember saying anything else, only tears poured out of my eyes, and then tears stopped. I was crying because I did not believe in you, and I felt guilty, Jesus. And then my room got quiet then. I felt at peace as if everything was going to be alright. I never knew this feeling of peace before. But I felt peaceful.
Then I felt a warm feeling around my entire body. At first, I thought of you, Jesus putting a warm blanket around me to let me know that you were with me. Then months I realized it was you, Jesus holding me that morning. Thank you for coming to me.
Being somewhat of an atheist and not attending Church held me back spiritually throughout my life. I did not think you would help me, especially for the wrongs I’ve done in my life. I was spiritually dead in my soul and had no one to share this dilemma with. I was a lost sheep, and you found me.
My faith in you on August 5 grew that day. Since then I’ve been writing to you every morning. I was five-years-sohba and did not know how to write to you. I just started writing you letters each morning to be closer to you, Lord. My book, God’s Promises for every day, writes, “The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them.” Romans 8:14
Since last year my love for you has grown tremendously. I love you with all my heart and soul.
All I had to do was ask you for help. The Bible writes, “Ask, and God will give you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you. Yes, everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find it. And everyone who knocks will have the door open.” Matthews 7:7-8
Sweet Jesus, thank you for showing me your love. I never thought in a million years that I, an atheist, would be writing Dear God letters. And I love you unconditionally always. It’s your unconditional love that helps me to write to you each morning. I love all the prayers I’ve learned so far. And the fruit tree produces the fruits of love, faithfulness, joyfulness, peacefulness, goodness, kindness, and discipline. I simply love you, Jesus, have a gorgeous day!
