Dear God, good morning. I’ve been up since three, and I’m tired, but I wanted to write to you. Today’s reading from God’s Promises for every day writes.“What The Bible has to say about, The Return of Christ.” I don’t know when you’re coming, Jesus. But I believe you will come from the heavens because I believe in heaven. After all, the Bible says it. They said, Men of Galilee, why are you standing here looking into the sky? Jesus, whom you saw taken up from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you saw him go.” Act 1:11 From what I’ve read, Jesus, you will destroy all evil. The angels will come down from the heavens, and war will break out between good and evil. Those who believe in you will not suffer in pain. They will come to the mountain in Israel. I’ve read some books about “Revelations,” which explains that you will come from the heavens and destroy all evil.
And those who love you and do the next right thing will come to you in Israel. It writes, “That is how we should live because God’s grace that can save everyone has come. It teaches us not to live against God or do evil things the world wants to do. Instead, that grace teaches us to live in a wise and right way and in a way that shows we serve God.” It appears that you, Jesus, will make a new life for us after evil is destroyed. I’m learning more about you, Jesus. I’m just learning about the Bible and your pure teachings, like you, Jesus. I know love, peace, joy, laughter, fellowship, serenity, amazing grace, and eternal life.
I think helping women in my fellowship is serving you, Jesus, but I’m not sure. I’ve been around fellowship since ninety-eighty-seven. I’ve met a lot of women over the years. The elders told me always to welcome the new woman who comes through the fellowship halls. This made women feel welcomed. This fellowship had no rules, no authority. It’s a spiritual program, not a religious entity. The fellowship speaks of a loving God and Higher Power. Most women I’ve met over the years have stayed sohba, yet many of my girlfriends have died due to alcohol or drug overdoses. Over the last thirty-five years, I’ve also lost at least thirty-five or forty friends due to alcohol and drug abuse. But many women friends have you in their life, and they stayed clean and sohba. I love helping other women out. It’s a joy to watch women come from hell and look radiant; they have hope, joy, and a sparkle in their eyes. And they have you, Jesus, in their hearts, and they stay sohba in recovery. Recovery isn’t easy.
