Worry in Recovery
October 28, 2022
Dear God, good morning. Today’s topic in the Bible from God’s Promises for every day speaks about worry. It writes, “What to do when you feel worried.” I am worried about Roman. He’s in the hospital again because the people on the second floor of this apartment act ghetto. They look for fights, especially Desiree. She puts negative thoughts into Roman’s mind. Like the Latin Kings are friends with Desiree. And poor Roman thinks that the Latin Kings are after him. Because of what Desiree told Roman.
If we all move together to a beautiful apartment in a town called Amsbury. It would be perfect if we got away from the people from downstairs. I think Roman will feel safer away from Desiree and her claim to be affiliated with the Latino Kings. Poor Roman still believes the Latino Kings will hurt him and cut his face. Then we have to address it when Greg, Roman’s caseworker. Greg is trying to find an apartment for the three of us. I want to move. Please, God, make this move happen. Amsbury is more like a countryside town. Amsbury is a cute little town. I think it’s a great idea to move to a peaceful place.
Speaking about peace, it’s the opposite of worry. I need to put all my worries into your hands, God. My worries give me anxiety and cause stress. I trust that you will care for Roman, Gary, and myself if we move. Which is what I would like to see happen.
Thank you for the rest I needed while I was so sick I had a continuous cough, and body aches, headaches. Thank you to Gary for taking care of me while I was sick. He’s a great big brother. Gary has been my friend since the late eighties. That’s thirty-five years of friendship. Wow! Gary is kind, loving, and caring, and he finally found you, God. Gary let go of the “Rock.” That’s Gary’s analogy about hanging on to the rock with dear life. Letting go of the rock was hard for Gary, but he has a tribe of men and women that will help him through his most difficult times, and most important, Gary has you in his life, God. Amen.
Worrying is the devil’s playground, and I refuse to play in the same sandbox with the Evil One. The Bible writes, “Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God and me.” John 14:1
I am trying to let go and let your miracles help Roman and Gary, and I know that you have a plan for us, so I’m letting go of all my worries to you today. Please ease my worried mind about moving.
Heavenly Father, I come to you with all my troubles and concerns today, and I need your help to make good choices and not to worry. The Bible says, “The Almighty will protect those who go to God Most High for safety. I will say to the Lord, “You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God, and I trust you.” Psalm 91:1;2
So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you; I support you with my right hand that will save you.” Isaiah 41:10
I never thought that writing to you would be healing for me. Just communicating with you, God warms my heart that I’m getting to know you on a personal level. You are here for me, reassuring me that I don’t have to worry about anything. Just trust in you, and my life becomes one with you, Jesus. I love you, and I’m praying for Tina H she loves you, God. I’ll call her today to check in. Prayers for Desiree to become a nicer woman. Prayer for all my family and friends. Thank you, Jesus, for believing in me and loving me through dark times. I love you sincerely, Jesus.
